Chemical structure: 75 active constituents including polysaccharides, anthraquinones, vitamins A, C, and E, enzymes aloin and emodin, hormones auxins and gibberellins, minerals, and sterols.
Parts used: aloe gel is made from central part of leaf; contains active compounds such as glycoprotein that reduce pain and inflammation and polysaccharides to stimulate growth and repair of skin. Excellent moisturizer.
Precautions: do not apply to open or deep wounds. If taken orally for constipation, may cause cramping.
